Armenia is against changing the current format of the negotiations
for resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the OSCE
Minsk Group. Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, made
such statement when commenting on preparation of a PACE Report on NK
in a press conference in Yerevan, Friday.
He recalled that the OSCE Minsk Group is the only body to have
international mandate to mediate the conflict's resolution.
"Azerbaijan with its efforts to change the format of the negotiations
for resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict seeks to fail the
negotiation process," Nalbandian said.
The minister believes that drafting and elaborating reports on Karabakh
at other bodies cannot help making a progress in the negotiations
and may have a reverse effect - something Azerbaijan is very much
interested in. Nalbandian is sure that such actions may knock aside
the peace negotiations.
