Armenia's President attends opening of Yerevan Show 2014 - Photos

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of
Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan attended the opening of
international jewelry exhibition Yerevan Show 2014 held in Meridian
expo-centre from October 25-28.
The Mass Media and Public Relations Department of the President's
Office informed "Armenpress" that companies producing jewelry and
watches from Armenia and 24 countries of the world participated in the
event, which is held by the Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) for
the fourth consecutive year.
The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan toured the
pavilions of the exhibition, watched the jewelry production facilities
and jewelry produced by 125 domestic and foreign companies. Also, the
President got acquainted with the activity and future plans of the
companies.
The President and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan also participated in the official
opening of the Armenian painters' and sculptors' exhibition, where
more than one hundred works are displayed.

Yerevan Show 2014 jewelry exhibition opens in Meridian expo-centre

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Show 2014 initiative targets
the creation and development of jewelry cluster in Armenia. The free
economic zone is a factor for the creation of new jobs and attraction
of vast foreign investments. The Chairman of the Armenian Jewellers
Association (AJA) Gagik Gevorgyan stated this at the opening of
Yerevan Show 2014 held in Meridian expo-centre on October 25. The
President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan attended the
opening ceremony. President Sargsyan toured the pavilions and got
acquainted with the works introduced by the organizations
participating in the exhibition.
Among other things, Gagik Gevorgyan noted: "The free economic zone
with its infrastructures today is ready to receive its first
residents, but it will operate with its all capacity in 2015. It is
considered to involve 120-150 foreign companies, which will provide
the creation of 1000-1500 jobs."
The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Karen Chshmarityan
underscored: "The Yerevan meetings of the businessmen and experts
engaged in jewelry from Armenia and various countries of the world
have already become a tradition. And I can gladly state that an
efficient platform has been created, where the majors of the field can
sum up the activities, get acquainted with the achievements of the
Armenian jewelers of the world and discuss further activities and
plans. The participants of this event played a great role in the
development of jewelry and with their work they contribute to the
development of our activities."
