    12:28, 25.10.2014

Famous Istanbul journalist of Armenian descent Etyen Mahcupyan has
been appointed a chief adviser to Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet
    Davutoglu.

During last week's meeting with the intellectuals, Turksih PM offered
Mahcupyan a post of his adviser and received a positive response,
Sabah daily reported. Mahcupyan stands out for his attitude to
democratization and civil society, Davutoglu added.

It is noted that Etyen Mahcupyan will deal with the settlement of
Kurdish and Armenian issues as well as national problems.

After the death of chief editor Hrant Dink, Mahcupyan briefly headed
"Agos" newspaper and worked for some Turkish dailies.
