MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) - The trade between Belarus and Armenia
can be doubled due to the supplies of heavy-duty trucks, Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia Stepan
Sukhorenko told media on 24 October, BelTA has learned.
Armenia is set to launch new mine projects in the near future. In this
respect the country plans to purchase about thirty 130-tonne dump
trucks. "It is a big sum and it is very important that the Armenian
consumer chose the Belarusian product. If Belarus implements the
project, it will be able to double or even triple the trade with
Armenia," Stepan Sukhorenko said.
On 24 October the Ambassador was present at the signing of the
framework agreement on the general conditions for allocating export
credits between the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus
and Armbusinessbank. The agreement envisages joint financing of the
delivery of Belarusian goods (works, services) to Armenian customers
and provides for the main conditions of allocating export credits
and the rules of cooperation between the banks.
According to the Ambassador, the document opens wider opportunities
for bilateral cooperation. "The competition between suppliers is
tough. The agreement signed today is one of our ways to offer more
favorable conditions to the client," Stepan Sukharenko said.
