Let pupils and students lay the groundwork for future of Armenia:
President congratulates on Day of Knowledge
YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Armenia's president Serzh Sargsyan
congratulated schoolchildren, students, their parents, teachers and
lecturers on the September the 1st Day of Knowledge and the beginning
of academic year.
'Culture and the alphabet have been 'visit cards' to our people
throughout the centuries, and Armenians have not given up educational
and scientific progress even under the hardest conditions', Sargsyan
said.
Today improving the quality of education is one of the priorities of
Armenia as a country, the president said.
Armenian schoolchildren's achievements at international school
Olympiads shows the country makes progress in education. Yet, these
are the first steps and the next challenges can be met only if efforts
are consolidated, the president said.
Sargsyan wished success to teachers and lecturers, schoolchildren and
students and gave a special congratulation to those starting their
first academic year in their lives.
'Let this academic year be fruitful as our pupils and students will
lay the groundwork not only for their own lives, but for the future of
Armenia', the president said. -0--
