Turkish film director proclaimed traitor due to the film about Armenian Genocide

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: An initiative has been undertaken
against the display of `The Cut' film by German filmmaker Fatih Akin
in Turkey. Armenpress reports citing the Turkish `Haberler.com' that
Yusuf Yilmaz, the head of the Turkish `ASEMIK' organization combating
against recognition of the Armenian Genocide, told about this.
He stated that the director of the film is a traitor. Yusuf Yilmaz
assured that in case of displaying `The Cut' film in Turkey they will
screen another film depicting `the murders of the Turks by the
Armenians'.
The authors of `The Cut' film are Fatih Akin and Martic Martin. The
film tells about an Armenian man ` Nazaret Manukyan, who has survived
the genocide. After many years he finds out that his twin daughters
are alive and starts searching them. This film, which lasts one hour
and thirty-eight minutes, is in the English language.
European prominent film director, screenwriter and producer Fatih Akın
was born in 1973 in Hamburg to parents of Turkish ethnicity. He is a
winner of a number of awards at Cannes and Berlin film festivals.
