ZHOGHOVURD: TRANSPORT FARES TO SURGE IN STEPANAKERT

The paper says it has learned from sources about plans to raise the
public transport prices in Nagorno-Karabakh's capital.
The Stepanakert municipality is said to have made a decision to
increase the fares from 70 to 100 Drams ($0.171 - $0.145), citing
the low profitability of transport companies as a major justification.
"Those serving the public transport are private companies which have
submitted their estimates to us.
"Over the years, both the spare parts of vehicles and fuel have become
more expensive, so it is now impossible to leave the prices unchanged,"
the city's mayor, Suren Grigoryan, has told the paper.
