YEREVAN, March 27. /ARKA/. Hrant Bagratyan, a former Armenian prime
minister, finds it wrong to fill the government reserves with the
money received from placement of Eurobonds.
In an interview with Zhamanak Newspaper, he called this a crime.
"Replenishment of the reserves means that the central bank will
sell this money to retain the dram's value," he said. "To sell it
to importers means to inflict more harm the economy. But if this
money was used for repaying a more expensive debt than the current,
I would hail this."
Armenia sold a $500 million 10-year dollar bond on March 19. -0-
