ARMENIAN PRESIDENT, RUSSIAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER DISCUSS INT'L AND REGIONAL PROBLEMS

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and speaker of the Russian State Duma
lower parliament house Sergei Naryshkin discussed international and
regional problems, including stability and security in South Caucasus
and strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and
Armenia, the press service of the Armenian president said on Monday
"Inter-parliamentary cooperation plays an important role in
strengthening allied relations between Armenia and Russia," Sargsyan
and Naryshkin agreed.
"Thanks to the activities of the inter-parliamentary commission on
cooperation between Armenia's National Assembly and Russia's Federal
Assembly, inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries have
acquired a stable and dynamic character," the Armenian president
stressed, adding that the commission facilitated the establishment
of legal framework to ensure harmonious development of inter-state
cooperation between Armenia and Russia.
Sargsyan and Naryshkin also exchanged views on the development
of trade and economic relations in the context of new integration
processes. They noted that the two countries had raised mutually
beneficial partnership to a qualitatively new level. They agreed
that their integration association should be used in the interests
of prosperity of the two nations.
