Pavel Avetisyan, Director of the Institute of Archaeology and
Ethnography, Armenian National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), delivered
a speech at the ANAS general meeting on Friday.
Armenian scientists enjoy worldwide reputation, but some problems have
arisen. In any cases, Armenian scientists that have played a leading
role in individual discoveries eventually "get secondary roles."
"According to one of our surveys, scientific concepts of principles
of populating Earth are being revised. Foreign scientists published
the survey results, and Armenian scientists thus got 'the secondary
role'," Mr Avetisyan said.
He stressed the need for a laboratory.
"We only need a building. We can ensure the rest due to grants
and international cooperation programs," Mr Avetisyan said as he
addressed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who attended the ANAS
general meeting.
