ARE FILMMAKERS TELLING A LIE ABOUT BAGRATYAN? (VIDEO)

Armenia's former Prime Minister Hrant Baghratyan today responded to
the accusations made by filmmakers. Talking to reporters on April 6,
filmakers complained of the quality of modern films. Filmmaker Edgar
Baghdasaryan even recalled the words of the former Prime Minister
[Hrant Bagratyan], who said during his tenure in office that filmmakers
and sausage manufacturers should be taxed in the same way.
This led to the fact that the movie slowly turned into a sausage,"
Edgar Baghdasaryan said.
"This is very interesting, given the fact that I was the first to
order that films be made by state order in the difficult years of the
war. It speaks of the miserable condition of some 'representatives' of
our intelligentsia. By the way, taxes were included in these orders,"
said Bagratyan. In comparison, I can say that filmmakers today are
not paid more than they received in 1994-1996. So, what is the problem?
These intellectuals are displeased but they cannot express their
displeasure with the current government, otherwise, they will lose
everything. They think they must say something to reduce their pain.
They think their words will find the right addressee. Can they bring
any evidence that I said such things?" said the former PM.
