Toronto Mayor John Tory confirmed his participation in the Ecumenical
Prayer on April 19, 2015, in the Metropolitan United Church of
Toronto, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian

On Monday, March 23, 2015, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate
of the Armenian Apostolic Church Canadian Diocese paid a visit to
Mr. John Tory, Mayor of Toronto.
During the meeting, Mayor Tory and Bishop Hovakimian praised the
active participation of the Toronto Armenians in various municipal
initiatives, as well as in the life of the Church and the
community. The Primate and the Mayor exchanged symbolic gifts, and the
Primate was invited to leave a message in the City Hall guestbook.
Mayor Tory confirmed his participation in the Ecumenical Prayer on
April 19, 2015, in the Metropolitan United Church of Toronto,
dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The Armenian delegation accompanying the Primate on this visit to
Mayor included:
The Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, Pastor of Holy Trinity
Armenian Apostolic Church of Toronto/Ecumenical Officer of the Diocese
Mr. Barry Berge Papazian, President of Armen-Ontario of AGBU (Armenian
General Benevolent Union)
Mr. Ohan Ohanessian, Chairman of the Parish Council
Mrs. Apet Alpay, the Vice-Chair of Diocesan Council
Mr. Harout Manougian, Chair of Armenian National Committee of Toronto
Mr. Levon Isakhanyan, Assistant to Primate.
His Grace Bishop Hovakimian, on behalf of the delegation and the
community at large, expressed gratitude to the City Hall of Toronto
for the continuous support.
