ARMENIAN AND MOROCCAN BUSINESS PEOPLE PLAN TO ESTABLISH JOINT VENTURES
YEREVAN, April 7. /ARKA/. The head of the Yerevan Commerce and Industry
Chamber Andranik Aleksanyan said Armenian and Moroccan business people
are planning to set up joint ventures.
Speaking on the sidelines of the maiden Armenian-Moroccan business
forum in Yerevan he described Morocco as one of the most stable
countries in Africa with dynamic economy and very good transport and
freight infrastructure handling 6.5 million containers a year.
He said the Yerevan forum is being attended by representatives of
Moroccan tourism, chemical, medical, construction and agrarian sectors.
"We hope that Armenian and Moroccan business people will establish
joint ventures in tourism and agriculture sectors,' said Aleksanyan.
According to Aleksanyan, Moroccan business people are interested
in the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union. He said the trade
between the two countries is actually non-existent, not counting a
$5000 worth contract on import of fish to Armenia.
The Armenian-Moroccan business forum organized by the Armenian Chamber
of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Honorary Consulate
of Morocco in Armenia will run form April 6 to 9. The Armenian
and Moroccan business people will get acquainted with the economic
situation in both two countries, as well as discuss opportunities
for bilateral cooperation. 0-
