Kim Kardashian in Armenia: American reality TV star on first-ever
visit to historical homeland
"Armenia we are here!!!!! We are so grateful to be here & start this
journey of a lifetime!" Kim Kardashian, a world-famous U.S. reality
TV star of Armenian descent, wrote on her Instagram account early in
the morning after arriving in Yerevan and getting a warm welcome from
fans and sympathizers last night.
Kardashian, 34, came to Yerevan - on her first-ever trip to historical
homeland Armenia - together with her husband, American rapper Kanye
West, daughter North and sister Khloe.
They were accompanied by camera crews from a U.S. broadcaster that
will film several episodes of the reality series "Keeping Up With
The Kardashians."
No official meetings or press conferences are planned during the
high-profile trip timed to coincide with the period when Armenians
around the world and in Armenia specifically prepare to commemorate
the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey on
April 24.
Hundreds of fans, curious onlookers as well as media people came
to see the family arrive at Armenia Marriott Hotel at around 10 pm
on Wednesday.
In an Instagram message later Kardashian wrote: "Thank you to everyone
who greeted us! I can't wait to explore our country and have some
yummy food!"
She added: "My husband and daughter came to Armenia as well to see my
heritage and learn about my ancestors! My cousins came along too! So
excited I can't sleep."
Kim's younger sister Khloe, meanwhile, wrote: "The love and welcoming
to Armenia has been overwhelmingly beautiful!!! I wholeheartedly,
can't believe all of you Angels who are outside our hotel with flowers
and smiles. I'm incredibly eager to get some sleep and see Armenia in
the day light! I hope I'm able to sleep. I'm so excited to be here!!"
