5.8% YEAR-ON-YEAR PRICE RISE IN ARMENIA IN MARCH

This January-March, a price rise was registered in a number of sectors
in Armenia.
Specifically, Armenia's education sector showed a 0.4% rise in prices,
healthcare system a 1.2% rise, recreation and entertainment a 1.2%
price rise, public catering a 1.5%, culture a 2.3% and public utilities
a 2.7% price rise.
"The communication sector registered a 0.1% decrease in prices and
the transport sector a 1% decrease in prices, which is the result of
a decrease in prices for air transport," Gurgen Martirosyan of the
National Statistical Service of Armenia said.
A 0.2% price rise was registered in Yerevan against the general 0.1%
rise in 11 Armenian towns.
"A 5.8% price rise was registered in Armenia this March as compared
with last March," Mr Martirosyan said.
