Ambassadors accredited to Armenia plant trees in forest zone next to
Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial

YEREVAN, 11 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On April 11, as part of the city-wide
tree-planting event announced in Yerevan, Mayor of Yerevan Taron
Margaryan joined the representatives of the diplomatic corps
accredited to the Republic of Armenia and planted trees in the forest
zone located next to Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial. The
area was also fully improved by the municipality. As the Department of
Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality reports to
"Armenpress", Taron Margaryan expressed gratitude to the
representatives of the diplomatic corps for their active participation
in the citywide tree-planting event.
In their turn, the Ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Armenia
welcomed the initiative and mentioned that it was very important not
only because of environmental conservation, but also because it was a
unique way of strengthening friendship between nations. They also
attached special importance to the location for the tree-planting
event, mentioning that by planting trees, they were expressing their
support to the Armenian people.
The mayor and the Ambassadors planted 500 seedlings.
