Residents of Shengavit Administrative District 22 Yeghbayrutyan St.
have learnt some days ago that the green area of their yard was
privatized. Permission was given by Yerevan Municipality.
"Our issue is to keep the green area. They say that they have
privatized the area of 120 sq. m and have taken the beautiful park and
the green area, they have a certificate," Anahit Davtyan told "A1+".
Alina Danielyan adds, "We were here, someone came and asked whether
we knew that the area had been privatized and that he wanted to buy
it and we answered that we wouldn't allow."
The residents remember Mayor Taron Margaryan's words about landscaping
the area. Owner Arsen Mkhitaryan assured during phone conversation
that nothing would be built there.
"It will remain the same. It was privatized legally, what is the
matter? Is it under construction? Is a building being built?"
The words, though, aren't reliable for the residents. They suspect
that one day another multi-storey building will be built in front of
their building.
