THE PERSON IN NEED IS NOT GIVEN A $117 THOUSAND FLAT

    April 16 2015

During the Parliament debate Zaruhi Pastanjyan asked the Finance
Minister Gagik Khachatryan how it was possible to give some pretty
expensive apartments to different prosecutor and police officials on
the budget. Namely the Deputy Prosecutor, General Prosecutor and other
senior officials in opposition, she said that at least 28 persons in
public service are provided with houses that cost round 117 thousand
dollars. The apartments were bought from 2 private companies without
a competitive basis. "Why were those people given the expensive
flats when the mentioned people did not need it, they even have
their own properties." Gagik Khachatryan didn`t deny that there
was such purchase by budget means. In this regard Naira Zohrabyan
talked to "Aravot.am" and said that it was an outrageous corruption
in fact. Zaruhi Pastanjyan -"I replied from my seat that if they were
socially in need, what was the purpose of giving that expensive houses
to that people that cost 117 thousands of dollars. One can buy a huge
house in the city center." Naira Zohrabyan said that in the Corruption
Commission they will have their representative. She also said that
Zaruhi Pastanjyan`s raised issue will be included in the questionnaire,
which will be presented by Michael Melkumyan at Corruption Commission .
