DENYING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE TANTAMOUNT TO CONTINUING IT - BAGRAT ESTUKYAN
17:58 * 21.04.15
Bagrat Estukyan, a correspondent for the Agos newspaper, believes
that the Armenian Genocide continues even in 2015, the year marking
the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
"Since the fact is still denied, we consider the Genocide continuing,"
he said.
The aim of the Armenian Genocide was to found a new state by
exterminating religion and identity.
The concept of Great Turan is still alive in Turkish thinking. Turkey
is acting as Armenia's enemy.
"This is the Turkish State's policy, not that of the Turkish
government. A number of governments have changed in Turkey since
Armenia gained independence, but the policy has not changed. I am sure
they it will not change in the near future either," Mr Estukyan said.
Turkey hates facing the fact of the Armenian Genocide as it is afraid
of legal consequences.
As long as Turkey keeps denying the Armenian Genocide, it is tantamount
to continuation of the Genocide for Armenians, he said.
