YAZIDIS OF ARMENIA EXPECT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO ADOPT STATEMENT CONDEMNING THE GENOCIDE AGAINST YAZIDIS

YEREVAN, 20 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. The Yazidi organizations in Armenia
and Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia have
created a task force that is gathering facts related to the genocide
against the Yazidis perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks in the early 20th
century. This is what president of the "Media Shangal" National Union
of Yazidis Amo Sharoyan informed during an April 20 press conference.
"The task force is working on gathering facts related to the genocide
against the Yazidis perpetrated in the Ottoman Empire. We will sum up
the facts in one document. In June, scholars of the Armenian Genocide
committee will hold a consultation in Armenia, and we'll submit that
document to the scholars for discussion," Sharoyan emphasized, as
"Armenpress" reports.
He expressed certainty that over time the National Assembly of the
Republic of Armenia would adopt a legal act condemning the genocide
against the Yazidis in the Ottoman Empire.
