IRANIAN OUTLET: OTTOMAN TURKS SLAUGHTERED ALSO IRANIAN AZARIS APART FROM ARMENIANS

    16:26 22/04/2015 >> POLITICS

Turkeys seeks to create escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia in
the Nagorno Karabakh issue, reads an article published on the Iranian
    website Vatankhahan.com.

As regards the Armenian Genocide Centennial, the author of the article
writes that the Armenians have struggled throughout years so that
the international community recognizes and condemns the Genocide
perpetrated against the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915.

"Erdogan's response to the process of the international recognition
of the Armenian Genocide is ridiculous. To conceal its weakness,
Turkey seeks to create escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the
Nagorno Karabakh issue in an attempt to loosen the pressure exerted on
Ankara," writes the author referring to the policy of denial of Turkey.

The commentator of the Iranian outlet adds that throughout history
the Ottoman Turks have also slaughtered the Azaris of Tabriz, Salmas,
Urmia and Khoy during their attacks on the northern districts of Iran.

"It is time for the Iranian Azaris to make efforts to achieve the
official recognition of the fearsome mass slaughters committed against
the population of Tabriz, Salmas, Urmia and Khoy by Ottoman Turkey,"
    the author concludes.

Earlier, a group of Iranian-Armenian young people had sent an open
letter to Hassan Rouhani, the President of Iran, urging him to
    recognize the Armenian Genocide.

A few days after the statement of the Iranian-Armenian youth, a group
of Iranian Turkic-speaking Azaris released a statement condemning
the Turkish government for denying the Armenian Genocide
