106-YEAR-OLD GRANNY ON THE CRIME OF TURKS: "IT IS LIKE SLAUGHTERING SHEEP"

106-year-old Sute Kocharyan is surprised how she has lived so long.
She lost her parents at a very early age, she has also seen the death
of her sisters, brothers, husband, son and grandchild. The woman
living in Zvartnots community was at the age of 6 when the Ottoman
Empire started the massacres of Armenians. A century has passed, but
awful scenes are still in front of her eyes, "It is like slaughtering
sheep or cattle. We saw the children in the blood, one doesn't know
whether they are sheep or children," remembers granny Sute.
She got married at a very early age. "I was 10, I met a person who
seemed familiar, he told me that he would marry me. I answered that
he was older than me and that I was a child. He was 20, 25 years
older than me," she tells.
Granny Sute is Yazidi, but she has never felt strangeness in the
Armenian atmosphere.
