Razm.info informed that ANAMA Agency which deals with demining in
Azerbaijan has cleared several territories near the border with
Armenia.
During the mine clearance works 1 antitank mine, 17 anti-personnel
mines and 76 units of unexploded ammunition were found and destroyed.
About 600 people were involved in the activities of the agency,
including 484 specialists and 118 support staff, 6 mechanical mine
clearance equipment, mine detection dogs and other.
ANAMA cleared territories in Aghdam, Aghjabed, Barda, Baku, Beylegan,
Gyanca (Gandzak), Fizuli (Varanda), Tartar, Ghazakh, Geranboy (part of
SHahumyan region), Aghstapa, Gyoygol, Shamkor, Yevlakh.
It is noted that the quantity of ammunition is very little compared
with the covered area. And this is natural because the mentioned
territories are close to Armenia and Karabakh and were abandoned
during the first war in Artsakh during the triumphant advancement of
the Armenian forces.
However, as the well-aware veterans of the war note, the advancement
of Armenian forces was suspended under the pressure of the political
leadership of Armenia and Russia then.
Otherwise, part of the mentioned territories would have appeared under
the control of the Armenian forces, and now a lot of issues, including
security, would have been resolved.
