SQUADRON COMMANDERS AND BATTALION CHIEFS IN ARMENIA TO BE AUTHORIZED TO STOP AZERBAIJAN'S SABOTAGES AND RAIDS INDEPENDENTLY

Squadron commanders and battalion chiefs in Armenia will be authorized
to stop Azerbaijan's sabotages and raids independently.
Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan has already prepared a
relevant order. The minister said at the January 12 meeting at the
Defense Ministry the order consists of 7 points implying strengthening
of the combat duty on the forefront, improvement of the monitoring
system, upgrading of the combat efficiency of the Armenian Armed
Forces frontier subdivisions etc.
"The enemy must be punished severely for its sabotages. It is necessary
to take preventive measures too. From now on, the squadron commanders
and battalion chiefs are authorized to develop and take preventive
measures after studying the strong and weak sides of the enemy. I
urge everyone to give the commanders such freedom of actions,"
Ohanyan said addressing the generalship.
Summing up the results of the past year, the minister said it was
tense and rich with events. Ohanyan said the army crimes were halved
due to the efforts and measures of the Armed Forces leadership.
