ARMENIAN PEACEKEEPERS HEAD TO GERMANY, THEN TO AFGHANISTAN

A unit of 65 peacekeepers from the Armenian Armed Forces left for
Germany last Sunday to undergo monthly training courses, and will
travel on to Afghanistan afterwards.
The Armenian peacekeepers will be serving at the Marmal military
base in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan as part of NATO's
International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), a spokesperson for
the Armenian Defense Ministry told Interfax.
The Armenian servicemen will be providing security for an
Mazar-i-Sharif aiport and the ISAF military base under German command.
