Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea has expressed
his condolences over the latest family massacre in Gyumri.
"My deepest condolences for the family and their friends in Giumry for
their tragic, sudden and undeserved loss! May God rest them in peace!"
Hristea says in a Facebook post.
The embassies of the UK, Lithuania and United States have extended
their condolences over the tragedy earlier.
The Avetisians - two grandparents, their son and daughter, a daughter-
in-law, and little girl - were shot dead on 12 January by Valery
Permyakov, a soldier serving at Moscow's 102nd military base in
Gyumri. A six-month-old boy, Seryozha - in critical condition after
suffering stab wounds - is the only survivor. The incident sparked
public outrage in Gyumri and Yerevan.
