HERITAGE PARTY DEMANDS ARMENIA'S LEADERSHIP TO LAUNCH IMMEDIATE TALKS WITH RUSSIA FOR TRANSFER OF PERMYAKOV CASE TO ARMENIA'S JURISDICTION

Heritage Party of Armenia has disseminated a statement wherein it
blames the Armenian authorities for no efforts to defuse tensions in
the town of Gyumri. "The people's demand is fair. To reduce tensions,
the authorities of Armenia must immediately demand the leadership of
Russia to transfer Valery Permyakov case under jurisdiction of Armenia.

If the leadership of Armenia fails to take any measures to deescalate
the situation, it will be responsible for the current situation and
its possible aftermaths," the statement reads.

To note, the tensions in Gyumri escalated when Armenia's Prosecutor
General, Gevorg Kostanyan, said that serviceman Valeriy Permyakov,
who is accused of killing 6 and wounding one in Gyumri, cannot be
handed to the Armenian law-enforcement in line with the RF legislation.

Later, under public pressure, Kostanyan promised to discuss the problem
with his Russian counterpart and achieve Permyakov's prosecution
in Armenia. Meanwhile, 14 people were hospitalized with injuries
during clashes of protesters and Police, with nearly 60 people being
detained. Three police officers were hospitalized in grave condition.
