Armenia analyst: Obama and Hollande will not attend Erdogan "April 24 circus"

    17:09, 19.01.2015

YEREVAN. - The leaders of the world's superpowers are unlikely to
participate in the Battle of Gallipoli centenary events which, by a
cynical decision of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will be
held in Turkey on April 24 of this year, turkologist Andranik Ispiryan
noted at a press conference on Monday.

In his words, Erdogan's declaration of April 24, 2015 as the 100th
anniversary day of Turkey's victory at the aforesaid battle--during
World War I--is risky for Turkey itself, since such a move may further
    discredit this country.

"April 24 has no connection with the Battle of the Dardanelles. For
the Turks, the important date in this battle is March 18 [, 1915],
when the Turks succeed in dealing a crushing blow to the Anglo-French
    fleet," Ispiryan specifically noted.

The turkologist stressed that the Armenians need to use this decision
by Erdogan against the latter himself, and to further discredit the
    Turkish authorities.

And in response to a query, Andranik Ispiryan stated that it is
difficult to imagine US President Barack Obama, who although still
says "Meds Yeghern" (Great Calamity) instead of [Armenian] Genocide,
or French President François Hollande attending the "April 24 circus"
which the Turkish president has organized at the Dardanelles.

"Albeit Turkey will do anything to engage even the most insignificant
    countries," the turkologist added.
