The people of Gyumri take to the streets as the body of Seryozha
Avetisyan is being transported to Gyumri from Yerevan. The streets are
crowded. Vahan Tumasyan, chair of Shirak Center NGO, told Lragir.am
that people have arrived in Gyumri from different parts of the country
to bid farewell to Seryozha Avetisyan.
People are waling to Saint Nshan Church where the wake of the baby
will take place. "The city is waiting for Seryozha's transportation
from Yerevan. About two hours ago the Municipality of Gyumri has sent
a special car to Yerevan to transport the baby," Tumasyan said.
Plenty of policemen are on duty in the city. The Russian district is
guarded by the police. The police has put up a fence around Saint
Nshan Church. Serzh Sargsyan is expected to arrive in Gyumri.
