DOCUMENTARY FILM: ST. GREGORY OF GAGKASHEN CHURCH IN ANI

A recent film prepared by the Research on Armenian Architecture NGO
regarding the Armenian church of Saint Gregory of Gagkashen in Ani
talks about its history and gradual destruction.
The film also shows its 3D reconstruction.
Construction started in 1000 AD and lasted for some two decades. With
some modifications, it was modelled after the 7th century church
of Zvartnots.
Gagik I, the Bagratid King of Kings, ordered the construction of the
church and entrusted the task to the prominent architect Trdat.
The film, with English subtitles, was scripted by Samvel Karapetyan.
