Richard Clayderman, the celebrated French pianist and composer known
for his performances of ethnic music, is planning a concert tour
to Armenia.
He is set to give two concerts, Armenpress reports, citing Invitro
Production, the event organizer.
"Richard Clayderman will appear [with concerts] at the Al Spendiarian
National Opera and Ballet Theatre on March 13 and 14 under the
accompaniment of the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra. The tickets'
sale will start in just a few days," sources from the company have
told the agency.
Clayderman started playing the piano under the supervision of his
father, who was a teacher of music. Admitted to conservatory at age
12, he had to play the piano in his early teens to pay his tuition and
improve skills. Clayderman became a world star thanks to the Ballade
pour Adeline, a 1976 instrumental composed by Paul de Senneville.
