Amal Clooney, the renowned human rights lawyer, gave an excellent
response to a journalist who asked her about her fashion choices as
she appeared in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg
today.
Ms Clooney stood before Europe's top human rights court to represent
Armenia in their case against DoÄ?u Perinçek, the leader of the Turkish
Workers' Party.
In 2008, Perinçek was convicted of denying the 1915 Armenian genocide.
Ms Clooney is arguing on an appeal before the Strasbourg-based
European Court of Human Rights, which ruled in favour of the man, Dogu
Perincek, in December 2013.
Perincek claimed his right to free speech was violated when Swiss
courts convicted him of denying the genocide in 2005.
Ms Clooney's arrival in Brussels' saw some media outlets focus on her
choice of clothing, particularly the `vibrant' red coat she was
spotted wearing for her flight out of the US.
