Money transfers to Armenia halved
In January 2015, the amount of private non-commercial transfers to
Armenia reached $37 million. In comparison with January 2014, this
figure haa fallenau by more than 50%, writes the Armenian newspaper
Haykakan Zhamanak.
"It was easy to predict that private transfers will be reduced. But
the that the reduction would reach the level that has been observed
was not expected even by the most pessimistic forecasts," the
newspaper notes, Epress.am reports.
The newspaper informs that the amount of private transfers expected by
the Cental Bank of Armenia should have been fallen by only 30%, and
the Central Bank has been building its monetary policy based on these
expectations.
