ARMENIA'S POLITICAL FORCES DISCREDITED, BUT SOCIETY FORGETFUL - BORIS NAVASARDYAN

In an interview with Tert.am President of the Yerevan Press Club
Boris Navasardyan pointed out the need for opposition political forces
in Armenia.
Although political forces are discredited, it could be forgotten at
the first opportunity.
"Armenia's 25-year-long experience has shown that everything can be
forgiven, and any political force can win over society provided it
develops the right strategy. At national elections society is inclined
to support any force that is critical of the incumbent authorities,"
Mr Navasardyan said.
Despite the need for opposition political forces, "human and financial
resources are insufficient."
"We need the opposition of a new quality, not only because of the
latest developments. Rather, it has been a need since the 1990s -
with a program of action," Mr Navasardyan said.
"We have very little resources to form such an opposition, primarily
financial resources. First, the opposition political forces are not
experienced enough in raising funds from society. Secondly, it is
human resources."
The creative part of Armenia's society, which could assume the role,
is avoiding it, Mr Navasardyan concluded.
