the Defense Ministry with representatives of foreign countries for
preparation for conduction of "Army international games-2015."
Military attaches from 26 CIS and non-CIS countries participated in
the conference. Russian army never organized international contest
of the size planned this year before.
During opening of the conference head of the Main Combat Training
Directorate of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ivan Buvaltsev
announced that "Results of the international contest of "Tank
biathlon" and "Avia darts" conducted in 2014 demonstrated that the
contest contributed to improvement of professional skills of tank and
airplane crews, their mastership and coordination. So we decided not
to stop after the achieved results and to unite separate international
contests into all-army games embracing all lines of combat training
of the armed forces."
He says that this year "Army international games-2015" will take
place according to a unified plan that implies "conduction of 20
international contests of branches of the armed forces in field skills
at ten training ranges of the Western, Central and Southern military
districts from August 1 until August 15."
In the "Tank biathlon" the main disciplines will be individual race
of 21 km (three circles of 7 km each) and relay race (12 km: three
circles of 4 km each) with two penalty circles of 500 m each.
According to preliminary information, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan,
Belarus, Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kuwait,
Mongolia, Russia and Serbia will participate in it.
Contest of mechanized infantry platoons at combat infantry vehicles
"Suvorov's thrust" will also take place there in Alabino. At the
first stage participants will perform a march at 5 kilometers with
surmounting of obstacles and firing from various positions. The second
stage will represent individual race where crews of combat infantry
vehicles should pass a route of 21 km equipped with obstacles like
bridges, minefields and water barriers. At the third stage there will
be 12 km of complicated track. At the final stage they should hand
the combat infantry vehicle over to the next crew. Participation
of such countries as Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil,
India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Cuba, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia and
Tajikistan is planned.
"Avia darts" will be organized at Dubrovichi training range of
long-range aviation. Contest there will take place in two stages:
the first stage will represent a flight along a route, for air
reconnaissance and piloting technique. The second stage will represent
a flight for attack at a ground (maritime) target. Algeria, Armenia,
Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia and Serbia will
participate in it. Contest of airborne platoons will be organized in
Dubrovichi too.
Caspian Sea will become an arena of contest for the first time this
year. "Maritime derby" will take place there for marines and "Caspian
cup" will be organized for crews of ships. These are several stages of
both individual and group contests at BTR-80 armored personnel carriers
and ships (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan).
In the framework of the stage "Masters of artillery fire" in Saratov
training battles will be fought by mortar crews (Armenia, Belarus,
Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan).
"Masters of air defense battle" will conduct contest in Yeisk. Right
on the move crews of missile systems will attack a suddenly appearing
helicopter and will fire at high-speed aerial targets from standstill
position.
Pontoon units (Belarus, China, Russia and Serbia) will compete at the
Oka River in Vladimir Region. They will arrange pontoon bridges over
antitank ditches, arrange ferry line and bridges over the river. In
Nizhny Novgorod Region engineering sapper units of the same countries
will arrange minefields, will destroy anti-personnel mines by sweeps
and will disassemble dangerous barriers by special hardware.
Units of the radiation, chemical and bacteriological defense forces
(Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan) will compete near
Yaroslavl in four stages. Groups of field reconnaissance will come to
the training range in Novosibirsk for landing, forced march and passing
through "Scout path" set of obstacles (Azerbaijan, Angola, Belarus,
Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Serbia and Tajikistan). Along with this,
crews of automotive technical support (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) will
compete in skills of maintenance of combat vehicles in Ostrogozhsk.
General Buvaltsev reported that the plan of international games
was already approved: the ceremony of their opening will take place
on August 1 at the training range in Alabino in Moscow Region, on
August 2 all teams will go to the places of the contests that are
planned for the period from August 3 until August 13. On August 14,
all teams should return to the Alabino training range where the final
round of "Tank biathlon" contest, summing up of results and awarding
