Women capable of turning weakest points into strongest ones, men say on March 8

    14:30 * 08.03.15

In an interview with Tert.am, Armenia's Minister of Education and
Science Armen Ashotyan said that women's both strong and weak points
    show their real image.

"Anything special can hardly be singled out especially since a woman
can turn her weakest point into an advantage," he said.

As regards women's greater role in politics, Mr Ashotyan is against
    any discrimination.

"I think numerous women in Armenia can play an important role in
various bodies' activities. I have the honor to be head of the most
important and pleasant sectors because we have a great number of
working and studying women in our country. We have no discrimination
against women in education and science," Mr Ashotyan said.

Chairman the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs
(AIISA) Styopa Safaryan believes that life and mood must be so good
that people should not remember women only on special days.

He is not women's involvement in politics.

"I would be happy if women did not avoid it."

As regards ideal women-politicians, Mr Safaryan considers Margaret
Thatcher a brilliant figure. He also respects the women who were his
fellow-members in the Heritage parliamentary faction.

Mr Safaryan cites the example of Anahit Bakhshyan, who not only
contributes to correcting the authorities' errors, but is also active
    in social policy.

"We see her care, conscience and attitude as a woman," he said.

Among others are Larisa Alaverdyan and Zaruhi Postanjyan, Chairperson
of the Prosperous Armenia party Naira Zohrabyan and Karine Achemyan,
an MP of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

Artak Zakaryan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign
Relations, Parliament of Armenia, believes that March 8 has
traditionally imparted warmth, love and energy irrespective of
    people's moods.

He is against more women in politics.

"Although women's participation in politics and social life is
important, politics is a most difficult job. I think women's advantage
and role is to be a family pillar."
