Armenian women live in the worst conditions for health among 142
countries. In 2014 Harvard and Bern Universities and "World Economic
Forum" carried out joint research, where Armenia held the last line,
142, as a country having favourable conditions for women's health in
the viewpoint of clean environment, as Karine Danielyan, Chairman
of "For Sustainable Human Development" Association, said at the
press conference held at EcoLur Press Club on 6 March. Under her,
the research focused also on the women's participation in economy,
their educational background, as well as their involvement in
political field. Under the research, Armenia holds 31st place in
educational background among 142 countries, it's 82nd in regard with
the participation in economy, and 123rd in involvement in the politics
and decision-making.
"As a matter of fact, women in Armenia have a good indicator in regard
with education and intellectual development, but they can't protect
their right to live in healthy environment and to improve their own
health conditions," Karine Danielyan said. According to her, one of
the reasons is unserious approach to the environmental problems in
our country.
