Karabakh war veterans are returning their awards and medals (Medal
for Bravery, Military Cross 2nd class) and joining Zhirayr Sefilyan.
Garik Khachatryan and Arayik Khandoyan have returned their medals
as a sign of protest against the Berdzor incident and other criminal
steps of the regime.
We cannot keep aloof from the events happening in the country,
we cannot stay with people who persecute defenders of the nation,"
says freedom fighter Arayik Khandoyan (known as lone wolf).
Karabakh war veteran Garik Khachatryan participated in the press
conference via Skype. Though he is living in Belgium, the freedom
fighter says he cannot put up with injustices in his homeland. He
describes the neglected situation in the country in one word -anarchy.
"The acting regime has lost its value altogether," says Mr Khachatryan.
The killings and stabbings of the recent days did not surprise the
freedom fighters. They say the murders also show the true face of
the government.
The freedom fighters are determined to continue the struggle
until they see the perpetrators of the Berdzor incident, March 2008
post-election bloodshed, October 1999 parliamentary carnage, as well
as the murderer[s] of the Avetisyan family punished.
