ARMENIA NEGOTIATES OVER COOPERATION WITH EU ALONGSIDE WITH ITS EEU-MEMBERSHIP
YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. Armenia is negotiating with the EU on
cooperation that is not in conflict with its commitments as an EEU
member state, Armenia's foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan said in
Vienna on Wednesday.
Armenia has recently joined the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), in
pursue of its strategic interests and for the new economic development
opportunities, the minister said.
At the same time, attempts are currently made with EU colleagues to
define the legal framework for the country's cooperation with the
European Union, Nalbandyan said at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting
in Vienna. .
"We are ready to develop all directions of our cooperation so that it
is comprehensive, yet not conflicting with our commitments within other
integration processes," Nalbandyan said, as cited by Novosti-Armenia
referring to RIA Novosti.
According to the Armenian foreign minister, there is a chance of
using more creative approaches in OSCE integration and developing the
existing opportunities, without getting stuck on the incompatibilities.
"It is possible to develop diverse integration formats and avoid the
occurrence of new separation lines," Nalbandyan said. -0--
