Commenting on the opening of the French hypermarket Carrefeur
in Yerevan, the paper says that the enthusiasm it provoked in the
public and political circle rally demonstrates the level of misery
in the country.
Hadn't Armenia scrapped its Association Agreement with the EU to
join the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union, the presence of such
prominent brands in the country would be treated as something usual,
not an unprecedented event, says the paper, adding that the association
deal would further contribute to the country's Europeanization and
integration into different European economic institutions. "Armenia
lost the chance; hence now, we cannot now but be so enthusiastic
about such a business' presence anid the Euarasianization process,"
the paper comments.
