YEREVAN. - Armenia's recent accession to the Eurasian Economic Union
(EEU) does not interfere and has not interfered at all with the
country's relations with the West, political scientist Levon Shirinyan
said at a press conference on Saturday.
In his words, Armenia can even become an intermediary between these two.
"What place can Armenia occupy in the EEU? We [, Armenia,] may choose
the optimal options for the recovery of industry. First of all, I mean
fundamental science, theoretical physics, chemistry, mathematics, and
engineering work," Shirinyan stressed. "If we do that, we definitely
will have our place among the other three EEU countries [i.e. Russia,
Belarus, and Kazakhstan]."
