YEREVAN, 13 MARCH, ARMENPRESS: Each person can contribute to the
construction of medical station of Aghavnatun community in Artsakh,
donating even smallest amount. The fundraising is carried out by
"OneArmenia" organiztion, which has implemented a number of projects
throughout Armenia and Artsakh. "Armenpress" interviewed with Nazareth
Seferyan, the director of the company's Armenian office, on the
priority importance of the medical station's construction of
Aghavnatun community.
Aghavnatun is 30-40km away from the Berdzor town of Kashatagh. The
community is consisted of three villages: Aghavnatun, Khachgetik and
Harar, approximately with a population of 150 people. The majority has
resettled there from the cities of Armenia, as it has a military
importance of the region. The residents of Aghavnatun community go to
the hospital of Berdzor, when necessary, which is not so available to
the residents of the community, because the roads of the city are in
poor condition. The community has one nurse Lilik, who had to walk and
pass miles to provide medical assistance.
Nazareth Seferyan underlined that the existence of medical station in
the community can promote the resettlement of new people in the area.
"People, when they come from the towns and want to live there, check
out, if there are some structures, one of which is a medical station.
It is difficult to imagine the life without it somewhere, especially
when you have children and young family. Aghavnatun is an interesting
community, because people of different age groups live there,"
Nazareth Seferian stressed.
According to him the construction of medical station will allow to get
a vacancy from the state for one doctor or a medical assistant. "We'll
also be able to organize visits of doctors and dentists from Yerevan
and Stapanakert. All of these are included in the program's sum. In
the final result, the amount necessary form some visits will be
sponsored," Seferian underscored.
The area for the medical station has already been selected. The
construction will be from almost zero, as it is a demolished building,
in which only the two walls are suitable.
Referring to the question of equipment, Nazareth Seferian noted that
the clinic will have essential equipment, which will help to provide
first aid. "The equipments are not very showy. There will be a bed,
tonometers for the measurement of pressure, thermometers and other
tools," the interlocutor underlined, adding that theoretically it
would be possible also to organize childbirth services. "Now, there
are two pregnant women, who go to the hospital of Berdzor. At this
moment, it will be very difficult in the village to give a birth
without minimum conditions," Nazareth Seferian emphasized.
The project has a budget of USD 33 thousand 98, 29% of which (by March
12, 11: 00 am) has been collected. The smallest assistance even is
very important, because is directed to an essential program. Perhaps,
it is more important for us, that 33 thousand people donate one
dollar, than to have a donor, who grants the entire amount. One of the
principles of is the participation, which is from the
three principles: participation, transparency and implementation of
new ideas. We try to motivate people from Armenia to make
contribution. We are delighted even from the smallest amount of
support. When you donate money to the project, you are more interested
in Armenia and Artsakh, it is also an important aspect of
surveillance," Nazareth Seferyan highlighted. He said that the
residents of Armenia can also make a donation directly participating
in the planned concert, which will be held on March 22, in "Tufenkyan"
hotel, with participation of "Karahunch" band.
The largest participation of donation was from USA, as it happened in
the case of the other fundraisings. "From USA 63 people have
participated, 10 people from Armenia, 7 people from Canada, people
from Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Great Britain, France, Kuwait also
have their contributions to that fund. The amount of donations made
until Monday will be doubled by the organization of London 'Armenian
Centre Trust'," the director of "One Armenia" noted.
The head of the organization, which implements the project, gladly
said that the people are joining this program not only by their
monetary donation, but by the voluntary principle, they open a page
and organize their donation.
"Each of us has our page and goals, where we organize fundraising. 17
pages are opened for that program, eight of which belong to our
employees, and the rest belongs to the volunteers, who support us.
For example, Lusine Mosinyan from the USA has prepared her page and
spread it among her friends and in the circle of community asking for
donations to build a medical station in the Aghavnatun community.
Sargis Panosyan is from Uruguay, his birthday was on March 8, he has
told friends that this year he does not want a birthday present, but
suggested that they can transfer the sum of the presents to the
program of Aghavnatun," said Mr. Seferyan, happily considering it,
that people, besides donations, tcan sometimes inform about the
program to their friends and thus receive a donation.
