Armenian parliament vice-speaker visits Latvian parliament

RIGA, Mar 13, BNS - The members of the Latvian parliament's Presidium
met with the Armenian parliament's vice-speaker, Eduard Sharmazanov,
on Friday, the Latvian parliament's press service reported.

The topicalities of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU
were discussed during the meeting. The Latvian parliament's
vice-speaker Inese Libina-Egnere stressed that Eastern Partnership,
the EU program for cooperation with the countries along the EU eastern
border, was among the priorities of the Latvian Presidency.

Sharmazanov said that cooperation with Latvia was important for
Armenia both on the bilateral and EU level, considering that Latvia
currently held the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU.
Armenia highly appreciates Latvia's active work on cooperation with
the Eastern Partnership countries, and plans high-level representation
at the Riga Summit, the Armenian parliament's vice-speaker said.

During the meeting Sharmazanov also presented the Latvian parliament's
secretary, Andrejs Klementjevs, with the top decoration of the
Armenian National Assembly, bestowed on him by the speaker of the
Armenian parliament, Galust Sahakyan, for his contribution to
    development of bilateral relations.
