ARMENIAN MP: EU SHOULD DISPLAY AN INDIVIDUAL APPROACH TO EACH OF EASTERN PARTNERSHIP MEMBER STATES

The European Union should display an individual approach to each
of the Eastern Partnership member states, Artak Zakaryan, Head of
the Armenian Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Relations, said
during the joint session of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly and
the Civil Society Forum.
Zakaryan stressed the significant role of the Eastern Partnership
countries' civil societies in the joint work within Eastern
Partnership. It is the civil societies that enhance the confidence
among the countries. "Without the atmosphere of confidence, all
initiatives and steps will be temporary and senseless", Zakaryan said.
To note, Yerevan is hosting the fourth plenary meeting of Euronest PA
March 17-18. Today on March 16, meetings of the following committee
are scheduled: Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation
and Convergence with EU, the Committee on Political Affairs, Human
Rights and Democracy Venue, the Committee on Social Affairs, Education,
Culture and Civil Society Venue, the Committee on Energy Security. Four
reports on the European Neighborhood and EaP cooperation for 2014-2020
will be approved at the plenary meeting in Yerevan. The reports will
cover such issues as communications in the EaP countries, cultural
dialogue, energy security, including new and alternative sources of
energy. The Azeri delegation refused to attend the meeting in Yerevan.
