RIGA SUMMIT A KEY MOMENT IN ARMENIA-EU RELATIONSHIP, EXPERT SAYS

YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. The upcoming summit in Riga will become a
key moment in Armenia-EU relationship, head of European Integration
non-governmental organizations Karen Bekaryan said on Sputnik-Armenia
    radio.

Transforming the relationship into a document will be discussed at
the summit, Bekaryan said as cited by Novosti-Armenia.

A legal framework should be created based on the discussions within
the preparations for EU association agreement, Bekaryan said.

Earlier, Armenia's deputy foreign minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said
Yerevan and Brussels intended to sign an agreement about cooperation
during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on May 21-22.

Bekaryan refused to comment on the statement by co-chairman of Euronest
Parliamentary Assembly Boris Tarasyuk saying it was impossible to
sign a new association agreement with the EU while being in the EEU.

"I do not want to comment on some officials' statements, including
the one made by Tarasyuk, and I would urge our society not to treat
it seriously and not to make conclusions. We all have seen what
consequences it had in other countries," Bekaryan said. -0--
