The Armenian press informed that Griboyedov Club will meet in Yerevan
on the upcoming days which will be devoted to the Centenary of the
Armenian Genocide. The special guest will be academician of the
Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor, Professor Alexander Chubaryan,
historian, the president of the Russian Association of Archivists.
As always, the meeting will be held in a restaurant, and the aborigines
will ask questions to the Russian guest.
This time the club has made an interesting choice of the keynote
speaker. He is an ethnic Armenian historian who will be answering
questions about the Armenian genocide. Being a renowned historian and
the president of the Russian Association of Archivists, Chubaryan must
be well-aware of the history of 1915-1923. In particular, he must know
about the role of Russia in those years, its alliance with Turkey in
the result of which Armenia was divided between the two countries.
Chubaryan will tell about the position and steps of Russia in the
process of extermination and displacement of the Armenians, the
developments in the Russian part of Armenia until 1923 when under an
agreement between Russia and Turkey the Russian and Turkish troops
continued the job they started in 1915 in the result of which the
Treaties of Kars and Moscow were signed, and Kars, Surmalu, Nakhijevan
and Karabakh were annexed by Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Being one of the best experts of world history, Chubaryan will also
dwell on the current situation which is quite similar to the situation
at the beginning of the 20th century, namely the alliance of Russia
and Turkey which is already an established fact, and most probably
soon it will be laid out in a document. It is understood at whose
expense the new Russian-Turkish alliance will be accomplished.
It is true that during the meeting of the club, as we have learned,
the Armenians attending it will avoid such questions. Moreover,
they are going to try their hardest not to have Chubaryan dwell on
these issues. However, our compatriot, who was awarded the highest
decoration of Russia by Putin last year, is not likely to give up
and will tell the whole truth.
They say Dmitry Kiselyov will also attend this meeting, and the
Armenian participants hope to silence Chubaryan with his help. They
have asked Kiselyov to attend the meeting by all means.
