The United States Congress is moving towards recognizing the Armenian
Genocide, as the world is set to mark a hundred years since 1.5
million Armenians were massacred by Ottoman troops during World War
One. The recognition of the Armenian Genocide has always been a bone
of contention in the West since Turkey, a long-standing and pivotal
ally of NATO, has adamantly refused to take any responsibility for it.
Dr. Georgette Avakian of the Armenian National Committee of Israel
tells host Gilad Halpern how the Turkish are reacting and whether
this US recognition is likely to change anything.
