ARMENIAN PRESIDENT: ARMENIA-BELARUS TRADE DOES NOT MATCH THE LEVEL OF POLITICAL RELATIONS

MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) - The trade between Armenia and Belarus does
not correspond to the level of political relations between the two
countries, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview
with the Belarus 1 TV channel on 22 March.
"There are two objective reasons for that: the small size of the
markets and the lack of infrastructure. However, the membership in
the Eurasian Economic Union opens up new opportunities," said Serzh
Sargsyan.
According to him, by pursuing the common policy the EEU countries
will be able to replace imports. "If we take the first steps in this
direction now, the trade between the two countries will increase
substantially," added the Armenian president.
