    14:59, 25 March, 2015

YEREVAN, MARCH 25, ARMENPRESS: Today, on March 25, the President of
the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, being on a state visit to
the People's Republic of China, had a meeting with the PRC President
Xi Jinping. The press service of the Armenian President's Office
informed Armenpress that at the end of the meeting the presidents
of the two countries signed a joint declaration on the results of
the negotiations on "the further development and deepening of the
friendly partner relations between the Republic of Armenia and the
    People's Republic of China".

More than ten documents were also signed directed to the development
and strengthening of the bilateral cooperation in different spheres
    between the two countries.

Earlier it was reported that China, one of the world's largest
economies, year by year strengthens the economic, commercial and
political ties with Armenia. The trade turnover with China makes
about 10% of the Armenia's foreign trade, though a year ago that
figure did not exceed 8%. In a year Armenia has increased for 2,5
times the export volumes to China and the import from that country was
increased by 8,2%. In 2014 the export made 170 million 954,1 thousand
dollars in comparison with the 68 million 838,2 thousand dollars in
2013 and the import made 417 million 503,3 thousand dollars, instead
of the 385 million 901,8 thousand dollars. The trade turnover today
exceeds 588 million dollars between the countries, which established
    diplomatic relations since 1992.

On March 24, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a state visit to the
People's Republic of China (PRC). Serzh Sargsyan is going to meet PRC
President Xi Jinping. The Armenian-Chinese high-level negotiations will
be followed by a signing ceremony of documents aimed at promotion and
strengthening of mutual cooperation in a number of areas. As part of
his visit, the RA President plans to meet with Zhang Dejiang, Chairman
of the Standing Committee of the PRC National People's Congress,
and Li Keqiang, Premier of the PRC State Council. President will be
hosted at Peking University where he will deliver a speech.

During his visit to the People's Republic of China, Serzh Sargsyan
will take part in the prestigious Boao Forum for Asia 2015 on March 28.
