    Discover Armenia with AUA: AUA-UCLA Joint Summer and Study Abroad Programs


    YEREVAN, Armenia ` The American University of Armenia (AUA) is excited to
    welcome international students to AUA with its Summer Program and Study
    Abroad AUA. For those looking to enhance their educational experience,
    these programs combine strong academics with the benefits of a safe,
    welcoming, and exciting environment.
    As AUA students, participants have endless opportunities to take advantage
    of. Just this past January, AUA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
    with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to launch a new
    AUA-UCLA Summer Intensive Program in Armenian Studies. The program will
    begin at AUA in the summer of 2015 and feature classes on Armenian
    language, culture, and history.
    The Summer Program is perfect for those who wish to visit Armenia for the
    summer and also earn extra credits at their home university, while Study
    Abroad AUA is designed for students who wish to study at AUA for a
    semester or even a year.
    Participants can choose from a wide range of courses to match their
    university academic plans, and because AUA is accredited by the WASC
    Senior College and University Commission and affiliated with the
    University of California, students can easily transfer summer credits
    earned at AUA and apply them toward a degree at another institution.
    In addition to the great opportunities on campus, Summer Program and Study
    Abroad AUA participants can elect to take their educational experience
    outside the boundaries of Yerevan with Discover Armenia Educational Tours.
    This series of five day-long excursions allows students to get to know the
    country and take in all its sights, sounds, and flavors.
    AUA has partnered with Birthright Armenia, opening up additional
    opportunities for applicants of Armenian heritage. Students who have been
    accepted to the Summer Program or Study Abroad AUA and are interested in
    extending their stay in Armenia as a volunteer can visitBirthright
    Armeniato learn more about possible travel and homestay living assistance
    eligibility requirements.
    Students can also stay in the AGBU Vahe Karapetian Center, a multi-purpose
    educational, cultural and social center for Armenian youth from the
    Diaspora and Armenia. The off-campus dormitories fully furnished, newly
    renovated single, double, and triple rooms.
